Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Pin Snap ("we", "our", or "the App") is a GPS camera application that stamps location data onto photos. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what data Pin Snap accesses, how it is used, and your rights.

2. Data We Access

Pin Snap accesses the following device capabilities solely to provide its core functionality:

• Camera — to capture photos.
• Location (GPS) — to obtain coordinates, altitude, speed, and heading for stamping onto photos.
• Storage — to save stamped photos to your device gallery.
• Internet — to reverse-geocode your coordinates into a readable address (via OpenStreetMap Nominatim) and optionally display a mini-map tile.

3. How Data Is Processed

All photo processing, watermark stamping, and database storage happens entirely on your device. Pin Snap does not upload your photos, GPS data, or any personal information to any server we own or operate.

The only network requests the App makes are:

• Reverse geocoding — your coordinates are sent to the OpenStreetMap Nominatim API to resolve a street address. This is governed by OSM's privacy policy.
• Map tiles — when the mini-map stamp feature is enabled, map tile images are fetched from OpenStreetMap tile servers.

4. Data Storage

Photos and their metadata are stored in a local SQLite database on your device. We do not have access to this database. If you uninstall the App, the database is deleted. Photos saved to your device gallery remain until you delete them manually.

5. Data We Do NOT Collect

• We do not collect personal identifiers (name, email, phone).
• We do not use analytics, tracking, or advertising SDKs.
• We do not create user accounts or profiles.
• We do not sell, share, or transmit your data to third parties.

6. EXIF Metadata

When you save a photo, Pin Snap writes GPS coordinates and timestamps into the photo's EXIF metadata. This is standard camera behavior and allows other apps (such as Google Photos) to display the photo's location. You can strip EXIF data using any photo editing tool before sharing.

7. Children's Privacy

Pin Snap does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. The App does not require account creation and does not collect personal information.

8. Permissions Summary

• CAMERA — Capture photos
• ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION — GPS coordinates for stamps
• INTERNET — Address lookup & map tiles only
• WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE — Save photos (Android 12 and below)

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date.
